Your "From" Address

When you send or receive an e-mail, the "from" address usually displays a name and an e-mail address:

"John Doe" <jdoe@uga.edu>

Changing Your Name in the "From" Address

UGAMail Webmail:

  1. You can change your name in the "from" address by accessing "preferences" from the side menu.
  2. Type your desired name in the "Full Name" field.
  3. To apply the change, scroll down down to the bottom of the page and click "o.k.".

IMAP E-mail Programs:

Your IMAP e-mail program (Netscape Messenger, Outlook Express, Macintosh OS X Mail, etc.) will have an area where you can specify the name to appear as your "from" name. You can see the configuration documents at our IMAP page.
